2024 Numerology 8 Year.

2024 is a number 8 year. The number 8 is connected to the Sumerian Goddess Innana, the first goddess. You may not know Innana, although I am sure you would have heard of Aphrodite. The myths renaming the Goddess as they travelled through Mesopotamia, finally ending up as Venus, the Roman name. 

If Innana is Venus, then I can see why Venus retrograde last year dragged us to its depths. Innana is a Goddess who went into the Underworld and came out the other side, much like Persephone. A modern interpretation is shadow work, which for many of us 2023 was about, as the year kept asking us to shed. 

I had channelled at the start of last year the word was “initiation”. Now I see that we were being prepared to walk into 2024 lighter. 

Her connection to the number 8 is through The Star of Innana, the 8 pointed morning star which again is also known as Venus. You will see this star symbol on many tarot cards, one being The Chariot, where the figure wears a crown with a 8 pointed star. Last year we were in a 7 year, which was connected to The Chariot card. Perhaps a hint for the journey to the 8 year of 2024.

This year, we are connected to the tarot card Strength.

In the January energy update I mentioned this is not a time of becoming anymore. It is a time of being. 

Innana now guides us, asking us to act from a place of our own personal power and control. We will be asked to no longer compartmentalise our multifaceted nature. Innana, Aphrodite or Venus are goddesses of fertility, sexuality, sex, divine law (karma), power and conflict. It is time to merge these different parts of us within our personal lives. 

Can we merge our rage, happiness and sexuality? Can a mother still be seen as sexual? Can a person who is not a traditional mother be seen as motherly? Can we stop putting these boundaries up that when a person is one way, they can never be another?

The lines will break as we make our way into living fluidly between the different part of ourselves. As we begin to effortlessly dance between masculine and feminine. 

We have already begun to see it on a small scale in fashion. Women no longer dressing for the male gaze, men wearing pearl necklaces. Old rules of confinement will collapse further, except this is more then just a fashion trend. 

Clothing has always been used by the Goddesses for empowerment. Also jewellery, perfume and oils. This is more then self love, this is being love. This year take time to live within the pleasures of beauty and self expression. Innana and the number 8 are connected to the crystal Carnelian, if crystals are part of your expression then keep this one close. 

The goddesses loved beauty. More then a skin care routine, this is finally seeing yourself as beautiful. I am the first to judge the face I was born with. Feeling that my nose is too big, or I don’t fit the mould of any current beauty trends.

This year Innana reminds us that power comes from choosing what you will partake in. We live in the confines of what is deemed beautiful by people we will most likely never meet. I did not choose to be born with some of the features I judge within myself, yet it was what I was given. Reclaiming that is my power, as it will be yours. 

2024 is not the year to hide, to continue negative self talk or dismiss your power. We have Innana with us this year, we have a Goddess who is completely unafraid of her power and intimidation and pushes you to not be afraid of yours.
